01 — Overview
The product
I built SnapDev Marketplace, a high-performance engineering marketplace that connects founders directly with vetted software engineers. This full-stack application serves as a live support hub for technical teams, offering an interface where users get matched to an engineer, chat with them in real time, and book calls across backend, frontend, DevOps, and AI work. The platform handles complex workflows — matching, messaging, scheduling, and metered billing — as one continuous session rather than disconnected steps.
02 — Build
How it's built
- Front-end
- Built with Next.js (App Router) and Tailwind CSS v4 on a token-driven design system, producing a mobile-first, responsive UI with custom components for engineer discovery, matching, and calendar booking.
- Back-end
- Powered by FastAPI, exposing a typed API for engineer availability, support-request matching, hour balances, and Stripe-backed plans and invoices.
- Database
- MongoDB for flexible modelling of user profiles, projects, and call history, with Supabase handling authentication and private file storage.
- Real-time and state
- Integrated Chatwoot for persistent engineer–customer conversations with webhook-driven unread counts, and Cal.com for slot scheduling, with a selector-based state layer keeping the multi-step matching, chat, and checkout flow consistent.
03 — Highlights
What I shipped
- Integrated the Claude API with web fetch to read GitHub repos, URLs and zips and extract a project's stack for founder-engineer matching.
- Shipped live chat (Chatwoot) with SSE push, review-weighted engineer ranking, Cal.com booking and 4-tier Stripe subscriptions.
- Built 63 Next.js route handlers over a FastAPI/MongoDB backend, covered by 286 Vitest test files on parallel GitHub Actions CI.
